3 Days in Turks & Caicos

Here’s my itinerary (and pictures) from a 3 day trip to T & C:

Day 1: Travel Day and Exploring

I got out early, which is always my preference, but is really a necessity for short trips. My flight left at 8am, and I had one connection in Miami. But getting out early meant landing in Providenciales at 12:30, giving me nearly a full day of adventure.

Where we stayed

I met up with Glen at the Ritz Carlton located on Grace Bay in Providenciales, which is an area known for their food and shopping – and all in walking distance of the resort.

I went for a wander with my friend, Lisa, before we headed to dinner. We wanted to get a lay of the land so we’d be able to make plans for the next couple of days.

One of the shopping centers in Grace Bay

We had an early dinner at Marine Room Restaurant so we can watch the sunset. Marine Room was one of Lisa’s picks and it was great. She made sure we tried their famous lasagna as an appetizer- which was fantastic.

Glen made sure we had top notch wine. I ordered the branzino alla griglia, which I recommend – very light flavor and the fish quality.

Day 2: Out on the water!

We started off the day with breakfast at the Coralli restaurant in the resort.

Then the afternoon was spent on the water, and what an afternoon it was!

The best day

We stopped at a floating bar called Noah’s Ark, where they happened to be filming a commercial for body oil, which was fascinating to watch. The entire crew was from Atlanta and I was terrified the camera man was going to drop his camera as he waded out in waist high water but he never did – what a pro!

It was the perfect day for boating, and we ended up being out for about four hours.

For me, there’s not much better than being on the water, with the sun out and a nice breeze.

Day 3: Town & Beach

My final day started with a morning walk to get coffee at Beans & Leaves and a little bit of shopping.

There are lots of nice shops and cafes in Grace Bay, and there’s really something for everyone.

Shopping – so many good spots

After getting some souvenirs (a hat, teddy bear and bracelet) it was time to get out to the beach and eat an entire pizza by myself 😎

I wasn’t really hungry following beach pizza, but I wasn’t about to skip dinner out on my last night!

We went to Caicos Cafe:

Another shout out to Lisa for suggesting this spot, and making sure we got the gnocchi to share as a starter. I ordered the curried chicken which was delicious and Glen got the catch of the day.

And that’s a wrap! I’m at the airport now, ready to head back home.

Three days my seem short, but I actually think it was the perfect amount of time, and I miss my daughter (who has been having the time of her life with my parents so don’t feel bad for her!) – so I’m ready to head home.

TTFN!
