FOT in Fort Myers

She loved playing with the shells she found at the rental house (not as much as she loved the poker chips)

Well we are back to real life after spending 8 days in Fort Myers for the Feast of Tabernacles and Last Great Day.

We stayed in a home just down the street from the beach…but we never made it over there – lots of cleanup crews working after back to back hurricanes in the area.

The rental home we booked was no longer available for us, it was on the beach, but sustained damage from Hurricane Milton, so we had to scramble to find another place to stay with only a couple of days before we were headed there.

Poker chips and milk

We ended up in a great spot – big open space for our toddler to run around, and a room with BUNK BEDS which she really loved!

Bunk beds! Fun to play on but she isn’t quite ready to sleep in a big girl bed yet

The people who own the home are clearly fans of card games and board games, and had a big collection of poker chips on the TV stand…it’s hard to say which was more fun for her, playing on the bunk beds, or playing with the poker chips 😂

Normally I wouldn’t spend the entire blog talking about the VRBO place we stayed at but to be honest, we didn’t get up to a whole lot, and we spent most of our time there.

More running around space! We enjoyed a couple of nice meals on the deck
One of said meals…love it when Glen grills!

We had some great quality time with family and friends, and, surprisingly, there were a number of kids at church for her to play with!

As I said, we didn’t go out too much, but I do have a couple of places to recommend: the first is a coffee place we tried and really enjoyed called Chocolattés. It’s a fun spot and much bigger inside than you’d expect. The avocado toast was SO good.

The second place I’d recommend is actually in Cape Coral, not Ft. Myers, but close enough! It’s called Fathom’s. Fish and chips were great, and it was absolutely perfect weather for sitting outside overlooking the docks, boats, and palm trees.

The view from our lunch at Fathom’s

The Feast is certainly different with a toddler, but we enjoyed services, meeting new people, seeing old friends, and hearing some great messages.

Thanks for reading 🙂 TTFN
