Finally getting around to posting about the trip we took a few weeks ago!
On the way to Japan, we stayed the weekend in Malibu. Neither of us had been before; it was super relaxing and a great way to break up the flights (12 hours to Tokyo from LAX!)
Where we stayed: Malibu Surfrider
I have nothing but great things to say about the Surfrider Malibu (they have another hotel in Miami that we haven’t been to…yet…).
The location is great, it’s right across the street from the pier, and about a 10 minute walk from a really nice shopping area, perfect since we didn’t have a car, and I had forgotten to pack my sunnies (WOW).
So now I have 5 pairs of sunglasses but I digress! We spent most of our time at the hotel, which was great. They have a beautiful rooftop area for eats and drinks, it can only be used by hotel guests, so it always felt really private.
We ate out at one restaurant of note called Geoffrey’s. It’s known for its gorgeous ocean views and it did not disappoint. The food wasn’t memorable but it was worth the trip to watch the sun go down. Unfortunately, I didn’t bring my camera or phone, but I doubt my photos would have done justice.
The pier across the way had a couple of spots to eat at, and was fun to walk down and watch people fish.
More to come about our next leg of the trip: Tokyo!
