Gift Guide: Top 10

Ok here it is! My first ever gift guide. I agonized over this probably (definitely) more than was necessary so hope you enjoy….and these aren’t in any particular order. I tried to put up gifts that are more to the functional side of things.

If you’re purchasing from Amazon, remember to use Amazon Smile to support your fave non-profit!

“Unbreakable” Wine Glasses:

Schott Zwiesel Wine Glasses

I can attest to these being excellent glasses. When I asked the hubs what he’d put on the list, this was one of the big ones. They have a beautiful shape and are still sort of delicate; I love a good wine glass and have never been a fan of drinking out of super thick glass or plastic. We have some very beautiful wine glasses that are specific to different types of wines but now rarely use them because I’m terrified of washing them (I’ve broken a fair few). Not that we don’t love them, but these Zwiesel glasses are quality and just so much easier since they are dishwasher safe.

I don’t know anyone who has ever said “I have too many wine glasses” and actually 100% meant it.

PRICE:

I just checked ours again on Amazon….currently $75 for a set of six

UGG slippers:

UGG Women’s Wrin Slipper

These are my current slippers; I’d never been an UGG fan in the past, thought UGGs were generally ugly (still do to be honest), but I bought these on a recommendation from a friend and I love them SO much. If we go somewhere and check a bag, you know these will be safely tucked away, ready to envelop my feet in a pillow of soft coziness.

10/10 recommend!!

This is like giving socks as a gift (socks also make GREAT gifts) but the next level.

PRICE:

Currently $100, which is more than I ever would have thought I’d spend on something like slippers, but honestly they are really really great.

Fossil’s Watch Bar:

Watch Bar Fossil

I’ve loved every watch I’ve ever been gifted. I wish I would have kept my first ever watch that my parents got me when I was 10? It had a black leather strap, a round face and pretty little hands. Anyway no clue where it is now.

Point being, watches make great gifts, functional and they look nice (I’m assuming ya’ll have good taste…)

I love that Fossil has a Watch Bar where you can create your own!

They also offer engraving on the back of the watch, which is pretty cool.

PRICE: depends on the face & strap etc. that you choose…the one I designed was right around $100

Blanket/Throw:

The Connecticut Home Company Reversible Throw

Blankets are universally liked by everyone…and it’s hard to have too many. This particular one from Amazon is great because there are SO many different options to choose from in color and in texture, and it is easy to clean – safe to put in the washer and the dryer.

I personally love it in silver shag or cream shag, but as I said there are a bunch of colors to choose from so you can somewhat personalize it.

PRICE:  $25, for the throw, which is 65 x 50, whatever that means. A regular sized blanket for laying on the couch is what I would have said

Super Sonic x10: For the Golfer

https://www.supersonicgolf.com

Not sure what to get your golf person? It’s a common dilemma, we’ve all been there. You’ve given them golf balls, golf towels, personalized accessories, cute Target golf themed decor, even  an IZOD breathable sweat wicking polo and now you’ve exhausted all of your options.

Well, here’s a toy you probably haven’t heard of: actually I’m not entirely sure of what it’s called (lol) but my Dad has one. Basically it’s a club, and when you swing it, it will measure your speed. I’ve always loved golf and I can tell you when Ivisit my parents me and my dad spend some quality time with this bad boy. I asked my Dad for a quick review (didn’t tell him I’d quote him but whatever) “Hasn’t revolutionized my golf game, give it 6 or 7 out of 10” ((not 100% verbatim but it was something to that effect.))

PRICE:  From what I can tell as I’ve been looking at their website, the price is $150 or thereabouts but they are always having some special promotion and I’m all about sales. So sub $150 which I don’t think is too crazy.

For the kid(s): Storymatic Kids Game

This is basically a build your own story game with prompts on cards, so cool!

Uncommon Goods Storymatic Game for Kids

IMG_6658

If I was a kid I would for sure want this as a gift. As a parent, I’d be glad it’s not messy (for the most part). It comes in a box with cards, so there’s one set of cards that has who the character(s) will be…appropriately silly šŸ™‚ and then the other cards give some more details, then the kiddies make up the rest themselves šŸ™‚

PRICE: $30, then shipping, which for me was about $6. A little pricey but pretty unique IMO. Also $5 off if you give them your email, hey, it’s better than nothing!

Pens:

Maica Pens

My friend was visiting and using these pens, and let me use one, and I bought them for myself ASAP. Then some friends saw me using them, tried them, and bought them as well!

The link is to the set of 12 with all of the colors, but you can also get packs of 6.

They are perfect for taking notes, but also if you have a friend that likes those really intricate coloring books, these are the pens for them!

As a bonus, here’s a coloring book that my mom got for me a while back and I really like it:

Lost Ocean: An Inky Adventure and Coloring Book for Adults

PRICE: Under $20 for the set of 12. Go hard or go home.

Apothecary: Aesop & Le Labo

Ok guys, these are both amazing places, and ANYTHING you buy will be exceptional. The prices tend to be on the higher side, but I promise you that the recipient of your gift will like whatever you give them.

https://www.lelabofragrances.com

https://www.aesop.com/us/

Oil blends from Aesop are really nice, and their travel kits are 10/10.

Le Labo has lots of frangranc-y things, I love their candles, the scents are earthy but not in a bad way, and never overpowering.

Here are a couple things that we have and love; also all of our hand soap & body wash in our bathrooms are Aesop, we are big fans.

The Boozy Gift: 2 Suggestions

Earlier this year we got a gift in the mail, completely out of the blue from some friends of ours; it was a whiskey tasting set, we loved it!

There were four or five small bottles, so each was about two shots worth, and we tried a different one each night. It was a lot of fun!

Doing a quick search, I found two places that do deliveries like the one we got – they are:

Bro Basket and FlaviarScreen Shot 2019-09-24 at 3.16.43 PM

Screen Shot 2019-09-24 at 3.17.45 PM

First off, the company name “Bro Basket” annoys me but also seems like they have a decent selection of gifts both booze & non booze, plus a build your own, which looked cool. So it’s listed despite the name.

Both offer plenty of variety, however I found the Glenmorangie from Bro Basket and the two scotch boxes from Flaviar to be the most interesting/decent priced items from their offerings.

PRICE: $30 and up

Last but not Least: Flowers!

As I said, this list wasn’t made in any particular order with regard to best etc., IMO all ten listed are super šŸ™‚

urbanstems.com

If you want to wow with flowers (that was cringey) do Urban Stems. They ship not only gorgeous bouquets, but also plants, and they have cute pots and vases that you’ll want to keep.

Screen Shot 2019-09-24 at 4.39.43 PM

You can add in the usual chocolates, etc. as well as pruning shears that look cool, actually cute cards vs. the standard cost an extra $5 but you’d never actually pick yourself.

I love all the cool stuff they have available besides traditional bouquets (although I like those too).

Look at how precious!!!

(I only today figured out how to take screen shots on my computer so some of these are wonky but I’ll get there eventually.)

PRICE: from $40 then up
